# What We Represent #

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 725 and the National Electrical Contractors Association work together to bring our customers the absolutely best trained and skilled electricians for your residential, commercial and industrial electrical needs.

Through shared funding from the local members and the contractors of our Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship Training program, you can be assured that the electricians that work on your job have the best training and safety practices in the industry. Residential Wiremen complete three years of training that encompasses classroom instruction and 4800 hours of on the job training. Inside Journeymen must complete five years of school and 8000 hours of on the job training. No government or taxpayer dollars are utilized as apprenticeship training is a self-funded program.

IBEW local 725 represents over 700 electrical workers employed by numerous electrical contractors in nine counties in Indiana and six counties in Illinois. The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) is administered by a Training Director and the committee that includes three representatives from NECA and three from the IBEW who oversee the classroom, coursework, Journeyman continuing training, budgeting and interviews.

The JATC Training facility (www.thejatc.org) is located in Terre Haute, IN.

The National Electrical Contractors Association is the voice of the $100 billion industry responsible for lighting, power, and communication systems in buildings and communities across the United States. NECA advances the electrical contracting industry through advocacy, education, research, and standards development.

Don't forget about our Plus 5 program for your residential work:

The +5 Homeowners Electrical Protection Plan is a no-cost service providing
peace of mind to homeowners when hiring the services of an electrical
contractor. The plan is called “+5” because it extends beyond a builder's
one-year warranty for an additional five years. In other words, a home covered
by the +5 Plan is actually protected for six years. We take the hassles and
uncertainties out of finding the right contractor to wire your new home, or
remodel your current home.

By prescreening contractors and their employees, we are able to ensure that
only fully qualified professionals wire your home. We even back this up with our
exclusive five year extended service plan covering all associated labor and
material at no additional cost to you. When a +5 authorized electrical
contractor wires your home, you automatically receive the five-year protection
plan at no cost.
